Putting it all together I’ve got my facts- now what?

Sorting Fact Cards Think about your topic and the purpose of your paper. Your cards need to be separated into paragraphs. You will need to make a stack for each separate idea you plan to use (think about your essential questions). You will also need a junk pile for those that don’t fit anywhere else!

Internal Citations If you identify the author within the text, you do not need to put his/her name again in the citation. – In How to Pass Comp II, M Copp recommends that the student should study for his/her vocab test (5). – How to Pass Comp II recommends that the student should study for his/her vocab test (Copp 5).

Internal Citations Cont’d Normally, use the author’s last name and page number in parentheses – (Stuckey 35) (Baker 465) (Wright 2) Do not offer page numbers when citing complete works, articles in encyclopedias, single-page articles, or sources without page numbers. Check Write for College pg. 301 -311
