Ephesian 6: 10 -18 • 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. • 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. • 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, [a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. • 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

What is Salvation? • Salvation means being saved (by grace through faith) - receiving deliverance • “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. ” Rom 5: 8 -10

How can we receive Salvation? • (BY GRACE) – The gift of God – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6: 23) • (THROUGH FAITH) – Accept Christ as Savior – “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ” (Romans 10: 9 -10)

What does a helmet have to do with salvation? • A helmet protects a soldier against damaging and deadly blows to the head. • Spiritually speaking, the helmet of salvation provides hope and protects the mind against anything that would disorient or destroy the Christian, such as discouragement or deceit • 1 Th 5: 8 “But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. ”

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil” (Hebrews 6: 17 -19).

How does the Helmet protect us? It takes our attention off of only the struggle of the now and puts it on our future glory – We trust God – We rely on God – We seek eternal joy – We seek after God’s will – We live for God – We live for the eternal

Hope of Salvation Sustain us “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord

Hope of Salvation Sustain us “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead “ (I Peter 1: 3) • Hope of salvation sustains us daily – Confident in our status as children of God – Peace in God during stormy time – Face discouragement with strength – Focus on spiritual and not material – Set our goal toward eternal reward
