Types of Informative Speeches • What are the characteristics of “speaking to inform”? – Speeches can be about: • OBJECTS – Anything that is visible or tangible • PROCESSES – Actions that leads to a specific result or product • PLACES & EVENTS – Anything that happens or physical location • CONCEPTS – A belief, theory, or idea • Basically anything!
What’s Important? Your presentation will be judged in light of three general criteria (so pick something you know a bit about): a) Is the information communicated accurately? b) Is the information communicated clearly? c) Is the information made meaningful and interesting to the audience?
