Characteristics • B 2 B programme (EUR 15 mln p/a) – Commercially feasable projects, no commercial financing possible – Max. project budget: EUR 1. 5 Million – EVD grant: 50 - 100% (no loan!) – Contract between EVD and Dutch company based on results • B 2 G/G 2 G programme (EUR 10 mln p/a) – Long term action plan for solving particular trade related issues and strengthening specific sectors – Several instruments
Results • More than 800 projects since 1990 in CEE region • Programme has been active in more than 20 CEE countries • Main sectors: agribusiness, industry, transport • Spin off: – Increase of turnover and investment (multiplier = 5) – Increase of business contacts (>8) – Sustainable employment
Future • Political developments – Focus on integrated use of instruments in long term action plans. – Support of excellency in public private partnerships – Focus on emerging markets and/or innovative sectors • From grant to guarantee
