P-TECH Pathways STEAM focuses on planning, managing, and providing scientific research and professional and technical services (e. g. , physical science, social science, engineering) including laboratory and testing services, research and development services, and the integration of art. ◦ Computer Science ◦ Engineering ◦ Graphic Design ◦ PLTW Biomedical Science/Technology ENTREPRENEURSHIP pathway focuses on planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating business functions essential to efficient and productive business operations. Finance focuses on services for financial and investment planning, banking, insurance, and business financial management ◦ Entrepreneurship JUSTICE AND GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP Social Justice focuses on empowerment, conviction, and a passion for building a better world. Students focus on real issues impacting their local community and our world. Global Citizenship focuses on preparing students to be competent through the development of global competencies across disciplines. The certificate supports student literacy and provides a pathway for 21 st Century Skills. ◦ Global Engagement ◦ Social Justice GENERAL STUDIES Students of the general studies pathway take a multidisciplinary approach to education. This pathway combines study of the arts, biological and physical sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. Students select courses based on their proposed capstone topic and career goals.
NCC Certifications Upon completion of a series of college courses, you will earn a certificate in your chosen field of study. ◦ Computer Aided Design (6 credits) ◦ Smartphone App Development (14 credits) ◦ Web Developer (16 credits) Students are eligible to participate in the college program beginning the summer of the 9 th grade year. Students must meet all prerequisites and testing requirements. Courses may be offered Fall, Spring and Summer based on the NCC calendar.
NCC Associate Degrees ◦ Mobile Programming ◦ Mobile developers create simple applications on a variety of devices and platforms. A mobile developer is responsible for translating code into user-friendly applications. Essentially, mobile developers contribute to the design, testing, releasing and support of the application. Mobile developers are generally employed by retailers, the healthcare sector and the travel and tourism industry. ◦ Software Engineering ◦ Software engineers facilitate the first steps of computer software program creation. They are responsible for meeting with clients and users to determine their needs and wants. These scientists are in charge of brainstorming tactics and methods for implementation. Once the software engineer’s research and project outline is complete, they pass on the project to a software developer for build-out. ◦ Web Development ◦ Web developers degree provides students with the skills needed to be successful in the field of Web Development. Web developers present their clients' products and services to a wide audience by creating attractive, functional websites. Your work may include meeting with clients to discuss their desires for a website or discuss how to keep their websites functioning and up to date. You might construct the layout of a website, creating a visually interesting home page and user-friendly design.
