PTA Newsletter October 2020 PTA Firstly, hi to everyone, with a special welcome to our new Year 3 parents/carers. We are Connaught’s PTA. The PTA is a registered charity and our aim is to help raise funds for the school and provide the children with fun opportunities. Funds raised are donated to the school for purchasing resources or educational experiences, which enhance and enrich the children's learning. This Newsletter is designed to let you know– ways to get involved. Faye Dilworth Co-Chair (with Chloe, Y 5) Nadia Choudhary – Co-Chair (with Izzy, Y 6) Leonie Gilbert – Secretary Sarah Ward – Treasurer (with Holly, Y 6) The PTA relies on volunteers and we hope that you will be able to support us; and there are many ways to do that: • Joining the PTA – at our AGM we are looking to find a replacement Secretary as Leonie is leaving us after many, many years of supporting the school (Thank you Leonie!). If you are interested in this particular role, please contact us. There are other roles available too so please ask! • Suggestions for fundraising ideas – we appreciate this will be trickier now due to COVID-19, so any thoughts, however crazy, would be great! • Becoming a Class Rep – each class usually has two Reps, for further information on what would be involved please contact us. • As we are a charity, we are signed up with both Easyfundraising and Amazon Smile. This means you can shop online with all your favourite online retailers and earn money for the school at no extra cost to you! Details on how to join are on the next page. Thank you! Dates for your Diary • This year’s AGM will be on Tuesday 20 th October 2020 at 19: 30 and will be held via Zoom. We really hope to ‘see’ you there, please confirm attendance via our PTA e-mail below (meeting details will be sent out by Monday 19 th). • Halloween Mufti Day – we thought it might nice for the children to have some Halloween fun and so on Thursday 22 nd October the children are able to wear their Halloween costumes to school for a £ 1 donation (PLEASE NOTE: children who have PE days on Thursdays must not be restricted by their outfit/costume).
