Textbook Carlson’s Physiology of Behavior (12 th Edition) Bookstore has REVEL, an e-version of the textbook/study guide. Do I need to use REVEL? It isn’t required but students have reported it helps them study. Can I use an older version? I would suggest using the latest version. § Do yourself a favour (i. e. DO THIS) • read the textbook before class and use the online lecture notes • review the lectures regularly and re-read the textbook after class • this may seem like a lot to handle – trust me, its worth it.
Course web page http: //um-neuroscience. blogspot. ca/ • Will contain lectures, useful information and answers to your emailed questions. • Lectures will be posted one week or more before they are presented in class. • Bring lecture notes to class so that you can just add to them and not have to write down everything I’m saying. • I would encourage you to go through the lectures online as well because all the material doesn’t show up in printouts.
Zoom Lectures • My lectures contain a lot of animations and videoclips because I think it makes it easier to understand the dense material in this course. Most of the time, this will work over Zoom. But there are times where you may not be able to hear the video. There seems to be no fix for this because it is random. The lectures will be recorded and uploaded, so they will have the audio of any clips that you miss. • The uploaded Zoom lectures will be found on UMLearn. I will also upload any larger movies or clips because it will be easier than watching them over Zoom. • Warning: These files will be large, and it will take time for me to upload them and for you to download them.
