What is the PSSA? What is PSSA? It is Pennsylvania System of School Assessment Why do we have to take it? The test scores are used: ü To measure a student's attainment of PA academic standards ü To identify student’s needs for additional support ü To see how the school is doing
What’s in the PSSAs? The PSSA has Three Content Areas - Math, English Language Arts (ELA), and Science The tests contain different types of questions Multiple Choice, Selected responses Short Answer, Open Ended Essays Not All Grades Take the ALL of the Content Areas
Who takes What PSSAs? Every Pennsylvania Student has taken the PSSAs at some point. Grade Math and ELA 3 ✓ 4 ✓ 5 ✓ 6 ✓ 7 ✓ 8 ✓ 11 ✓ Science ✓ ✓
