Statutory RSHE In 2018 the government passed an amendment to the Children and Social Work Bill to make Relationships and Health Education statutory from Sept 2020 in primary schools, and Relationships, Sex and Health Education statutory in secondary schools. Supported by over 100 organisations, including Public Health England, Teaching Unions, NCB, etc. Jigsaw PSHE meets all the expectations of the Df. Next is ‘Calm Me’ (mindfulness). Calm Me The purpose of Calm Me is to prepare the children for learning, help children relax their bodies and calm their minds, reaching an optimum state for learning. The aim is to bring children’s awareness/attention to the present moment and in so doing let go of other thoughts that might be scurrying around the mind which distract from focusing on the learning of this lesson.
