PSHE Health and Wellbeing
Thinking about mental health? How we relate to others How we think What does mental health cover? How we behave How we feel Mental health and wellbeing is a very important factor in being healthy. We tend to think of being healthy from a physical point of view (eating healthy, exercising, not smoking etc. ). But it is just as important to ensure our mind, emotions and relationships with others are looked after too.
How does it make you feel if you are missing out? Sometimes, other people we know, whether it be siblings, cousins or friends, will have things that you don’t have. Can you think of examples of things you may be missing out on? An example would be missing out on the latest computer game/console. See if you can come up with 5. Maybe this happened to you in the past.
Not everything people miss out are actual objects like toys, games, clothes etc. It could be not having any siblings or not being a member of a particular club or not being invited to a party. Did you have anything like this in your list? Think about and answer these questions. • How would you feel if you were missing out on something that one of your friends/classmates had? • What would you do about this? Would you tell anyone? • What would you do if a friend told you they were jealous or upset that they didn’t have something that you had?
