Psalm 121 Lesson Scripture

I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

A Cry for Help Three Truths Revealed:

I. THE SOURCE OF OUR HELP Psalm 121: 2 -4

A. He Is Our Creator. Psalm 121: 2

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3: 20

B. He Is Our Confirmer. Psalm 121: 3

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you. ” Hebrews 13: 5

“I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth-- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear and will trust in the Lord. ” Psalm 40: 103

C. He Is Our Constant Helper. Psalm 121: 3 -4

II. THE STRENGTH OF OUR HELP Psalm 121: 5 -6

A. He Protects Us from Our Enemies. Psalm 121: 5

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. Psalm 138: 7

B. He Protects Us from The Elements. Psalm 121: 6

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91: 4 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18: 2

III. THE SECURITY OF OUR HELP Psalm 121: 7 -8

A. We Are Preserved from Evil. Psalm 121: 7

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. Romans 7: 18

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. I Corinthians 10: 13

B. We Are Preserved for Forevermore. Psalm 121: 8

He guards the paths of justice and preserves the way of His saints. Proverbs 2: 8 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3: 6
