Provide client consultation services 4: Advise clients on hair maintenance and management
Identify client’s current hair care regime During the early stages of consultation you identified: How much time the client spends styling their hair The types of treatment, styling and finishing products the client uses The types of tools and equipment they use to style their hair How often they visited the salon in order to maintain their style.
Advise clients on products and maintenance Now you will need to: Give advice and recommendations on products they should use (if different to what they already use) Recommend alternative styling tools and equipment if needed Advise the client on how often they should visit the salon in order to maintain their style (including the cost of this) Recommend any further treatments needed for example conditioning treatments or regular fringe trims Give the client any advice or tips on how to style and manage their hair at home
The advice you give to a client comes from excellent knowledge of products, equipment and services and also from personal experience: Try the products available in your salon on your own hair Treat yourself to any new services available so that you can recommend them to the client Get feedback on products and services from clients Keep up to date with the latest tools and styling equipment so that you can inform the client of their benefits
