Pride and Arrogance q Pride: a high or inordinate opinion of one’s own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc. q Arrogance: offensive display of superiority or self-importance; overbearing pride.
Pride and Arrogance q They are harmful to others, defiant toward God, and destructive to the one who embraces them. q This is why God says that He resists the proud (1 Pet. 5: 5 -6). q Just as surely as He will exalt those who humble themselves, so He will humble those who exalt themselves (Matt. 23: 12).

God Resists the Proud q Pride is a serious matter. Ø We must examine ourselves. Ø Let us humble ourselves now. Every Christian has a choice between being humble or being humbled. Ø God’s instructions are clear and easy to understand. Let us take them to heart.
James 4: 6 -10 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. " 7 Therefore submit to God.
