COLDBOX - Slow Controls • The application is already integrated to the main Slow Control (SC) WINNCC OA application • Based on SIEMENS PLC S 7 -1500 type with CERN UNICOS framework connected to the SC application • Wiener MPOD and PL 506 integrated in the WINCC application through WIENER-OPC Server and JCOP Framework. • Impedance Monitor enabled using DIM driver. • Includes: - Coldbox Temperature gradient monitor and pressure. - Power Supplies control - Cold Electronics Fan control - Photon Detector and Cold Electronics heater control - Power supplies Interlocks Figure 3 – Rack 1 Coldbox DCS Hardware 5

Coldbox Cryo System - Recent request, to develop the control system for the Coldbox cryogenic plant. - The control system is based in a SIEMENS PLC S 7 -1500 was developed. - Connected to the WINCC OA application through CERN UNICOS framework. Coldbox Cryogenics WINCC main display S 7 Driver UNICOS - The field signals electrical signals (0… 10 V, 4… 20 m. A, …) are connected directly to the PLC which can control the power sent to the N 2 dewar - It allows to monitor and operate the system in manual/automatic mode - The system is commissioned and working for the first 2 APA’s.
