Capillary electrophoresis � Capillary electrophoresis (CE) is an automated method for protein separation in blood or other bodily fluids. � It is increasingly used in clinical laboratories because of its high throughput, speed, and technical convenience. � In addition to electrophoretic mobility, electroendosmosis is an important phenomenon improving the resolution of CE. � A sample can be subsequently precipitated with specific antisera, and the presence of monoclonal components reduces the peak (immunosubtraction [IS]), which is known as immunotyping (IT).
