State of the art in IT – Big data • Big data is a broad term for data sets so large or complex that traditional data processing applications are inadequate. The term often refers simply to the use of predictive analytics or other certain advanced methods to extract value from data.

Background on the birth of Big Data • Huge, gigantic amount of data – like the footprint of people • Purchasing in the analogue era : written just price • Purchasing in the digital era : all the places you have been before you actually purchase, even if you do not purchase. • New Twitter update per a day : 1. 55 billions • Plays in Youtube per a day : 40 billions • Image data from CCTV in the main cities around the world : ?

Applications of Big Data ( Pros of IT ) • In 2012, the Obama administration announced the Big Data Research and Development Initiative, to explore how big data could be used to address important problems faced by the government. The initiative is composed of 84 different big data programs spread across six departments. • Big data analysis played a large role in Barak Obama's successful 2012 re-election success. • For enterprises, Big data makes the consumer’s behaviors predictable. It enforces company competitive, enables renovation in business.

Pros of IT • 1. IT makes people to approach to the information that they want rapidly, and easily via several searches from IT devices like smartphone, and computer. • 2. Complex, complicated tasks became easier. • 3. Lots of new jobs are made.

Cons of IT • 1. Humanity has been decreased. • 2. Cannot distinguish whether the information got from internet is true or not. • 3. Outflow of private information is serious problem.
