Pros and Cons of BUSSUU

Pros: The BUSUU program has the ability of getting help from people that know the language that you are learning that are also learning the language. So it is very easy to get help on subjects if you are stuck. The amount of subject matter that they have in order to help anyone trying to learn a foreign language at any level.

Pros cont. : The amount of languages that the site has available to learn is nice so that many different people can use it to learn any number of language. The app makes it really nice to use learn at your own pace and basically anywhere.

Cons: A bad thing that I saw about this site is that the way that it just throws you into the language right off. The downside to this is that one can get really confused quickly and in a sense they aren’t really learning the language they are just remember things that correlate to pictures of specific sentences.

Cons cont. : I also don’t think its very good that the site doesn’t seem to teach the alphabet of the language. When I went through the Japanese parts, it just showed me Japanese symbols and if I didn’t already know it, then seeing that would not help me learn the language very well.

How I Would Use For teaching With this site, if I was going to use it to help teach a foreign language, it would be very good at teaching many students at a variety of skill levels. The good thing about this site is that the way the lessons are set up based on beginner to very experienced. This is nice so that students can learn at their own pace. And with the ability to see their progress I can help them by having them go to a lower level or send them up higher if they are going through eh lessons really quick. I would also likely use this product to help instruct because it is mobile friendly with the app for smartphones. This is nice to have so that students can learn on the go, and not always be sitting at a computer. Also, with the easy to use UI it is a good choice to use for teaching for anybody no matter the age.
