• What is it?

• Proposal 2 will allow public and private employees to form unions and have the opportunity to bargain collectively. • Proposal 2 will overrule state and local laws that limit employees to form unions and practice collective bargaining. • Proposal 2 will overrule state and local laws about wages and work hours if there is a conflict with the rights of collective bargaining. Information from (Michigan "Protect Our Jobs" Amendment, Proposal 2 (2012))

• Proposal 2 gives employees the option to form and/or join a union to bargain, with their employers, for wages, hours, and other forms and terms of employment. • Proposal 2 will forbid employers from retaliating against employees for their actions and exercising their working rights. • Proposal 2 will protect current laws that involve working conditions, hours, wages, and other terms of employment. Vote Yes for Proposal 2!

• By repealing laws, Michigan is slow to recover economically. • This will re-introduce the step pay system for teachers, which stresses tenure rather than their qualifications. • Proposal 2 will repeal right-to-work laws; people could be fired if they refuse to pay union dues. • Proposal 2 gives too much control and power to union bosses, therefore, power is taken away from elected officials.
