Prophetic Intercession !!! 1. Difference between Prayer and Intercession 1. Why do we pray ? ? • Jam 5: 16 b - KJV: “…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” • OR in the ISV: “…The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. ” • That is the main reason why we pray – we are looking unto God / Jesus / Holy Spirit, making our requests known unto Him, and hoping for Help and Answers from Him to our questions / situations in life. . !! (Mat 6, Phil 4: 6, Joh 14: 13 -14, Mark 11: 22 -26, Mat 21: 22, Jam 5: 13 -15) 2. NOW: What is Intercession then ? ? 1. The word Intercession can also be described as Mediator – someone to stand in the gap on behalf of 2 persons…of which the mediator is equal friends of both parties 2. Thus we can stand as mediators (or intercessors) between 2 people or between GOD & MAN (the last is called in the bible a Priestly Function – Heb 3: 1, Heb 4: 14, Heb 6: 20, 1 Pet 2: 5) 3. And It is the latter point we want to concentrate on today !! 4. i. e. To stand between God & Man regarding a situation through Prayer in order to achieve / receive an answer / help from God for the person we pray for. Heb 4: 16 5. The most “common” understanding for intercession is: to pray for Revival or for a lost soul(s) to be saved. 2. Prayer is the MATCH that LIGHTS the FUSE to RELEASE the Explosive (dinamus) POWER of the Holy Spirit in the affairs of men !! Give it Priority !! 3. Ezek 22: 30 There is a GAP between God and Man that needs to be closed – and that is only done through prayer – otherwise disaster will strike !!! (Rom 10: 13 -15)

Prophetic Intercession !!! 1. Some Examples in the Bible of people standing between God and Man re a certain situation: 1. Abraham – for Sodom & Gomorra (Gen 18: 16 -33), as well as for Abimelech (Gen 20) 2. Moses – For Israel on various occasions (Num 11: 1 -3, Num 14: 11 -25, Num 21, Deut 9) as well as for Aaron (Deut 9: 20) & Miriam (Num 12: 12) 3. Esther – for her Nation 4. Jesus – our Mediator, Advocate and Intercessor (Isa 53: 12, 1 Tim 2: 5, Heb 9: 15, Gal 3: 19 -20, Heb 8: 6, Heb 12: 24) 2. WHY do I want to/need to/have to intercede for someone else ? ? 1. Out of Compassion for people (it is because of Jesus’ compassion for the World that He chose to die on the cross – hanging between earth and Heaven – interceding for us, i. e. standing in the Gap between man & God) See Joh 3: 13 -21 2. When God lays it on my heart – God always seeks to bring Healing and Restoration but He needs us to PRAY – so He can do His Good on the Earth 3. I know the TRUTH of God’s Word and see someone else stuck in a situation and know that God wants them to be free 4. Someone asks me to pray for them – as they can’t at the time, or needs someone to stand in agreement with them (Mat 18: 18 -20) 5. Lost Souls to be saved 6. God’s Presence to bring Revival in a city, country, nation etc… 7. God requires it of us !!

Prophetic Intercession !!! 1. HOW do I intercede ? ? 1. First of all – I have to KNOW GOD & HIS WILL/HEART (LOVE) & His Word – and then speak/declare His Word !! • Jer 27: 18 But if they be PROPHETS, and if the WORD of the LORD be with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of hosts…. • Amos 3: 7 -8 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy? (Hos 12: 10) 2. We need the Holy Spirit to step in and Help us to Pray – for He is our Helper & Counselor • Joh 16: 7 -13 – The Holy Spirit will convict people of sin, Righteousness & Judgment, and will guide us in all TRUTH (see also Joh 8: 32 – When we get to know the TRUTH, it shall set us free) • Rom 8: 26 -27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And He that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 2. THUS: The Prophetic Gifts is part of Intercession…!! Prophets should live out the Prophetic messages and in so doing they are mediators between God and Man !!

Prophetic Intercession !!! Some Notes to consider: 1. God wants to work through us, on the earth and bring about His Goodness, and to destroy all evil. But He can only do it if He can find someone on the earth that is willing to hear His voice, and work with Him in order to get it done !! (we are ambassadors for God on the earth – ruling like He would have if He was living here Gen 1: 26 -28, Mark 16: 20, Isa 6, Ps 115: 16) 2. Jesus is standing as a permanent Mediator between us & GOD and His Blood and the cross is always before God, interceding on our behalf (Isa 53: 12, 1 Tim 2: 5) 3. All Authority is Given to Jesus, and therefore we can now pray and intercede through His Name and stand firm in that Authority and all evil MUST bow the knee and obey !! (Mat 28: 18 -20, Mark 16: 15 -20) 4. So pray and keep on praying, ask & keep on asking, knock and keep on knocking !! Don’t let go, before you haven’t received an answer. It might take some time !! (Mat 7: 7 -8, Luk 11: 5 -13, Mat 15: 21 -28, Luk 18: 1 -8) 5. Make use of the Prophetic when you pray – like when you see a vision, or have a dream, or a Prophetic Word , pray it as an intercessor into existence (See Dan 9 & Dan 10: 1 -14 – because of him, Ezra, Nehemiah & Zerubbabel were released to rebuild Jerusalem) 6. It might require some serious sacrifices at times (family, fasting, even painful at times – like Daniel, Rom 12: 1, 1 Pet 2: 5 ) Don’t consider your own interests. Don’t become emotionally invested. Go in the Spirit & do His Bidding. Like being in Travail for someone else – Till Christ is formed in them !! (Gal 4: 19) 7. BUT: When our prayers are answered and the breakthrough has been received, it brings Glory to God’s Name and our Joy is made FULL !!! (Joh 11: 4, Joh 14: 12 -14, Joh 16: 23 -24) Like Taken from Glory of the old (fading) into Glory that remains ( 2 Cor 3)

Prophetic Intercession !!! Some Notes to consider…cont. : 1. It is a privilege for us to Pray/Intercede – make use of it – but don’t boast in it and become full of Pride. Stay humble before God (1 Chron 7: 14, Prov 18: 12, Prov 29: 23) 2. Make yourself available for God to use you and work through you: • • To set the Captives free To bring Forgiveness, Healing & Restoration To help the blind to see To overcome all Evil with Good !!! (Rom 12: 21) To save people from destruction and eternal death !! To bring Glory to God !! Isa 61 – the reason for the anointing on our lives !!! 3. Take hands and join in groups – as there is great Power in Agreement !!! (Mat 18: 18 -20) 4. When you’ve prayed, Believe that you have received it and you shall have it !!! (Mark 11: 24) 5. Be anxious of nothing but make everything known to God in prayer and supplication with Thanx Giving – And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil 4: 6 -7) 6. After praying, speak what God says, or showed to you – which is Prophesying – speaking forth that which God has said – in order for it to come to pass !!! 7. Remember Jesus is the Victor – we have to Enforce it. Jesus is the Head, we are the body. Pray what He would Pray – and Say what He would Say. . !! Meaning Jesus Authorize, and Validates my Prayers, and I extend His Work on Earth – as if He would have done it. . 8. John Wesley: God does nothing unless it is answer through Prayer !! 9. EM Bounds: God forms the World through Prayer. The more prayer there is in the world, the more powerful the power against evil… The prayers of God’s believers is Heaven’s shares with which God executes His mighty works on the earth. God determines life and the future of a situation through prayer !! 10. Jer 33: 3 – is Said to be the Telephone Number for Heaven – “Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. ”

Prophetic Lifestyle 1. What is a Prophetic Lifestyle? ? • A way of living before God and Man in such a way that everything you and I do and say brings Glory to God our Father & Jesus and helps Man to get to KNOW and SEE Jesus !! (Joh 14: 7 – to be like Jesus – when you see me, you should be able to see Jesus too ) 2. We are supposed to be Prophets, Priests & Kings first to our own household, and then thereafter to the outside world we meet everyday (Rev 1: 6, Rev 5: 10, Ex 19: 5 -7) • Prophet – to Hear from God and speak His Word to people • Priest – To take people’s needs to God (intercede for • King – To Provide & Stand in Authority (rule & reign) them) 3. 1 Pet 2: 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy (dedicated, set apart) nation, a peculiar people (purchased by God through the blood of Jesus ); that you should show forth the praises (the wonderful deeds & display the virtues & perfections) of Him who have called you out of darkness into his marvelous light !!!!

Prophetic Lifestyle 1. Characteristics of this Lifestyle: • Show forth the Fruits & Gifts of the Spirit – Walk in the Mature Love of God (Gal 5: 22 -25, 1 Cor 13, 1 Cor 12: 4 -11) • Walk in Righteousness, Peace & Joy – Kingdom Life (Rom • Resting and Trusting in God (Have Faith in Him, Rely on Him) – Lean not on your own understanding alone (Heb 4, Ps 118: 8, Prov 14: 17, Ps 1) 3: 5) • Stand in Authority – Rule & Reign over circumstances (Like speak to mountains (troubles) & remove them first in your life, but later also in others lives, even the weather, etc) (Ps 121) • Bring Healing and Deliverance & Restoration – Spiritually, Emotionally & Physically (Isa 61: 1 -3) • Walk in Maturity – i. e Full Stature of Christ and guide and teach others to do the same – Bring Balance (Eph 4: 11 -14) • Serving and Ministering – the Gospel, God’s Love, Word, Will etc to others (Mat 23: 11, 1 Cor 4: 1, 2 Cor 2: 14 -17 ) • Speaking the TRUTH of God in Love (Eph 4: 15, Joh 8: 32) • Worship, Praise, Prophesying, Thanks-giving, and Praying in the Spirit (Ps 50: 23, Ps 150, Phil 4: 6, Rom 8, 1 Cor 14)
