Masks • Masks must meet district guidelines for appropriate mask material and shape.
Wearing Gloves – if it’s wet and not yours… • When cleaning • When changing diapers or assisting with toileting • When feeding or assisting with feeding • When providing any other personal care (cleaning noses, feminine hygiene, etc…) • When administering medications • When administering ANY first aid
Face Shield • Worn by bus drivers, monitors, and custodial staff as appropriate • Worn by nurses in addition to masks working one on one with students • Worn by special needs staff in addition to masks when working one on one with students • Worn by pre-k or k staff as appropriate in addition to masks when working one on one with students • May be worn by staff with medical mask exemptions • May be worn by staff member (selfpurchased) if they so choose in addition to masks
Protective Gown or Covering • Protects the wearer from body fluids • Covers arms and torso • Worn by nurses • Worn by special needs, pre-k, and k staff when one on one providing assistance eating, toileting, changing, etc • Dispose of when dirty or visibly soiled, comes in contact with blood or bodily fluids, is physically damaged (Including broken ties and fasteners) • May be re-used until need for disposal
Hand Hygiene As you have seen in the previous PPE videos, proper hand hygiene is a VITAL part of protecting yourself against bacteria and viruses, including COVID - 19
