10 Truths about family Involvement…. . ALL parents have hopes and goals for their children. Parents differ in their abilities or resources to help their children reach those goals. Parents are the central contributor to a child's education. Involvement must be seen as a legitimate element of education and deserves equal emphasis. It is an ongoing process, not a series of events. Successful programs help families guide their children's learning from PK to HS. What skill do you feel your struggling students need most?

Find the tip sheet that you would like to use…. How easy will this be for your families to do? Watch the video (11 minutes) Make notes of how you could share the importance of this skill with your student’s family Consider the video you just watched. Is this something you can share for parents to do at home? Share ideas about how you can introduce this to parents during parent/teacher conferences.
