Wild animals of India: Different types of wild animals are seen in different parts of Indian forest. Nearly more than 89 thousand of different types of wild animals, nearly 12 hundred types of birds, nearly 25 hundred types of fishes are there in the country. favorable natural surrounding is their dwelling place. Tiger, Lion, Elephant, Bear, Boar, Deer, Rhinoceros, Antelope, Wild buffalo etc. are the main among the wild animals seen in India.
Generally Elephants are seen in the forest of Kerala, Assam & Karnataka. A large no. of Hippopotamuses are seen in the damp forest of Assam & West Bengal. Camels & Wild Asses are seen in the desert of Thar & sea coast of Kachha. Geer forest of Gujarat is the dwelling place of Lions. A large no. of Tigers seen in the Sundarban of West Bengal, dense forest of Madhya Pradesh & the mountain region of Himalayas.
A large no. of Yak & Musk deer are live in the mountain region of Himalayas which is near the border of India & Nepal. The long fur Wild goats are seen in the mountain region of Jammu & Kashmir. The Bengal Tiger is the National animal & Peacock is the National bird of our country.
The Wild Animals Of Orissa: There are many kind of wild animals seen in Orissa as it is full of forests. The tiger, elephant, & leopard seen in different parts of dense forests. The tiger in Similipal of Mayurbhanj & a large no. of elephant live in Chandaka forest which is nearlby BBSR. The wild buffaloes seen in the forest of Malkangiri & Khadial. The Nilagiri & big horn deer are seen in the forest of Koraput, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Boudh, Angul dist. Besides this it seen beer, fox, boar, deer, antilope, forest goat, monkey etc all most all forests of Orissa. Many kinds of birds like heron, king fisher, grey crane coal goose, greylog goose, & tortoise,
Travelling Birds: A large no. of birds like Heron, Grey Crane comes from Saiberia region to Orissa. Some are in the costal areas, some are in Chilika Lake & in the interior part of water resources. Gradually they leave this place after winter.
Conservation of Wild Animal: • There are 89 National Parks, 490 Sanctuary, 120 Biosphere Reserve Organisations in the Country. In that way 27 Tiger Reserve Project is activated in 14 States of our Country. Crocodile Reserve Plans are activated in Tikarpada of Angul District & Bhitarakanika of Kendrapara Dist. . Chilika is well known as Birds Sanctuary.
