Making Social Care Work – September update Progress & Key Achievements over the past quarter ü Two sessions session held – representation from a wide range of stakeholders including carers, service users , politicians and community and voluntary sector organisations. ü Agreement on workplan to achieve development of a strategy for adult social care and high level vision for how things should be different by 2025 ( see Appendix 1) ü Publicity about establishment of the MSCW board out in City. News to just over 7, 000 city residents. Plus other internal news bulletins and social media. Key Risks • Timescales to develop a fully co-produced strategy and how this aligns with Adult Social Care transformation work • Potential impact of any legislative changes , such as Adult Social care green paper • Change fatigue within SCC staff and partner organisations so any changes are not fully achieved or embedded Next Steps • 5/9/19 focus on promoting independence and wellbeing. , “supporting you to help yourself”. • See attached workplan (Appendix 2) Decisions needed from the Oversight Board • Recognition that the group is fulfilling 2 functions as both a key element of SCC Adult Social care transformation as well as to the Five Year health and care Strategy • Support for Communications session to be agreed 2
