Progress since last meeting From last week BEAM
Progress since last meeting From last week : BEAM mode lost twice due to ventilation interlock triggering the external conditions. On one occasion the door to room 400/1 -403 was left open and the monitored pressure compares this room with the tunnel, to be followed up. CV intervention done – problem solved Beam in the transfer line (around the bend) since Tuesday 24 april. Bunch Shape Monitor Team + J. Tan could commission the second BSM. Check out the pictures in the log book. Yu participated to the measurements (1 day). Follow up , BSM program Source current was increased to 20 m. A, LEBT not retuned. Several measurements with the laser (still expert BI equipment), several measurements with the SEM grids and wire scanner. Issues of wires bonded together Stripper foil tests going on at night – no feedback 02/05/2018 from LINAC 4 supervisors 1
Still to be taken care of (this week) L 4 T. RBH. 021 upgraded to FGC 63 during last YETS, for multi-PPM functionality. Power converter switched back on by the end of last week, with the help of EPC team (reconfiguration with manual reloading of DSP and state control card parameters ). The dynamic destination "PSB" found to be NOT programmed in the LN 4 central timing, (ie: the dynamic destination was always set to LN 4 dump) As temporary fix, the FEC (gateway) configuration timing file was updated to use the TGM field “LIN 4 D” as multi-ppm condition for the FGC instead of DYN_LINAC_DEST. Corrected LN 4 dynamic destination to be implemented in central timing next week to avoid potential disruption to users. After re-initialization of the L 4 T BIS Local permit and reset of the radiation alarms thresholds, beam could be sent yesterday in the L 4 T transfer line. 02/05/2018 from LINAC 4 supervisors 2
Still to be taken care of (this week) Copy on a fresh cycle didn’t work out at the first go and in view of the lack of time final debugging is due this week (Gianpiero + Bartosz) Chopping on two different users for 40 turns / 110 turns Cesiasion? ? ? I would like that the operator does it under the watchful eyes of Jacques- maybe the last week of run? 02/05/2018 from LINAC 4 supervisors 3

Planning Present run to continue at least to May 11 th ( Julie’s planning). Requests for beam time have been collected from BI, RF etc 23 -28 April - DONE Russian team of S. Feshenko visiting for the commissioning of BSM 2. Beam: in L 4 T transfer line, MD 5 cycles. Pulse length now limited to 150 us to limit dump activation (since HST times, see logbook for details). Possible to relax for the rest of the run? ? Priority on MD studies for BSM 2 commissioning and measurements with the laser detector. Possibility to work in parallel. Stripping foil tests overnight. 30 April – 5 May BPM tests – TOF with cavity detuning (Michele) RF tests of CCDTL 6 -7 tuners Stripping foil tests overnight. 7 -11 May 02/05/2018 Further laser tests for emittance measurements Stripping foil tests overnight. from LINAC 4 supervisors 5
