usda Updates Your financial books must be open to FNB (state agency) if you are going to continue participation in the CACFP. Financial Viability & Integrity is a big issue with USDA. 17

CACFP UPDATES Turn-over and new contact information should be forwarded to FNB right away so we have the current contact information. Claim submission- Certificate of Authority and EPICS new user request form. 23

CACFP UPDATES The Wednesday before a payment run is the new “due” date for claims instead of each 10 th of the month. An updated Calendar is enclosed with your presentation packets 24

CACFP UPDATES Milk purchasing requirements – all main meals –Breakfast, Lunch, Suppers. Meals are being disallowed for insufficient quantities of milk purchased. Who is still not clear on the milk requirement? 25

CACFP UPDATES Watch the whole grains, sugar content –yogurts & portion sizes for 6 -12 year old. 1 whole grain/enriched whole grain per meal/per day required Only 6 grams of sugar rule. Documentation in MRB/portion sizes 26

CACFP UPDATES • IEA’s continue to be an issue for some sponsors, could lead to a serious deficiency • A large percentage of disallowances this past year were for expired, incomplete or missing IEA’s • IEA’s are required for all participants in the “Free” or “Reduced” categories • October 1 st time calculation is still an option 27

CACFP UPDATES Expectations for Program Reviews • Administration • Facility • Meal service • Meal pattern/production Disallowances-adjustments in EPICS will be done on site during the Program Review exit. 28

CACFP UPDATES So far in FY 19, six sponsors have been serious deficient in their operations of the CACFP as stated in the “Review Results” presentations. When in need of technical assistance call FNB’s Compliance Officers. 29
