WHAT IS THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER AT EMMA? Emergency assistance such as food, clothing,

WHAT IS THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER AT EMMA? Emergency assistance such as food, clothing, financial assistance, holiday assistance, school supplies and parenting classes are provided via this program to help families out of crisis.

WHAT IS A STUDENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST? A caring and passionate professional whose goal it

WHAT IS A STUDENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST? A caring and passionate professional whose goal it is to help students succeed in school by addressing their basic needs and surrounding them with a community of support. This support can range from providing school supplies, to addressing homelessness and food insecurity to matching a mentor with a child.

WHAT ARE THE LEARNING CENTERS? An afterschool program that delivers 1: 1 academic assistance, healthy snacks, and enrichment activities for 40 + at-risk, elementary age children.

WHAT IS PROJECT POWER AMERICORPS? A National Service Program focused on providing mentoring and

A National Service Program focused on providing mentoring and enrichment activities to vulnerable youth in Western North Carolina (primarily Buncombe County), as well as helping to strengthen local communities, schools and non-profits by working directly with at-risk youth.
