Process of Community Organisation
Introduction • Community organisation is a process which is continuous and therefore there are different steps or stage being followed which are called the process or phases • Process “ a series of action taken towards achieving a particular task”. • Process “it perform a series of operation to change something in order to achieve the task”.

Study • Attention to gaining knowledge • To understand the community and the basic information about the community • Through formal or informal survey • Study is one of process of CO o collection of basic information, o baseline information, - conduct social survey, - community survey, - formal or informal survey
Analysis • The collected information should be classified according to the common characteristics and quantify the information for its magnitude and severity. - Gathering the data - Bringing the commonality of the data - Condensing the data - Making it ready in a presentable form
Assessment • So based on the above analysis, • The situation of the community could be understood by identifying the situation. • In this process the issues or the needs of the community are identified which should be taken up for further action. - the symptoms - the magnitude - importance - severity
Discussion • The collected information is presented to the community , the priorities are given. • Why? How? What is to be done? • What are the resources needed? • Where to get the resources? • Who will mobilize the resources? • Based on the above information the action plan should be structured
Organisation • Committees are formed and roles and responsibilities are allocated. • While assigning the responsibilities there should not be any compulsion on the members. • The involvement of the community has to be ensured so that the action
Action • Implementation of the action plan has to take place with the active participation of the people. • The action plan has to be monitored by the members of the community to ensure that the activities are carried out within the time frame and the resource allocated.
Evaluation • Evaluation of an activity is one of the process of Community organisation where the community makes an assessment of • the whole process, • The outcome • The success • And also identify the deviation or the failure
Modification • The changes based on the evaluation are brought in the process.
Continuation • The need or the problem from the priority list is taken up and the process is continued. • If the taken up issue is not solved with the modified strategy the process is repeated.
