(2009, American Journal of Roentgenology) 5. medical radiation risk When news broke of serious radiation-safety breaches at a prominent Los Angeles hospital, I worked with the D-H Radiology Chair on frank responses for the local community, including this Valley News op-ed.

The rest was helping clinicians draft and revise policy documents for clarity, logic and consistency—and just possibly, make a big difference in some patient’s life. pediatric trauma IV The nurses, physicians and technicians of the diagnostic X-ray unit are often the first to see signs of possible child abuse. Among the many difficult issues this raises, is the question of what to tell parents and caregivers. Working with the trauma team, we came up with this. V Who could possibly care? Think again. Mundane clinical procedures often present a serious potential for disease transmission. Here, I worked to help the ultrasound division find clarity and order on the process of making sure those ultrasound “wands” stay clean. VI The family agreed that the deceased’s wishes should be paramount. But what he intended wasn’t at all clear. The lawyer through up his hands and said, you’ll have to figure it out. Here is the document I drafted on behalf of the beneficiaries. VII Why must every instance of bringing in an outside theatre director for a new show involve hours of debate? Three members of The Parish Players’ board got together to figure out a better way, and this is what we came up with. WRITTEN CLICKED So. You start a group. Everyone’s excited.
