Top tips! Stay off the ice! Even if it look thick enough to walk on, it is still dangerous. If you have to walk near water that has turned to ice, stay away from the edge as much as possible. Keep dogs on leads, and never go in the ice after them. Move towards an area they could climb out and call to them. Try to stick to well lit areas, or times of the day where you can clearly see where you are walking.
