Presentation Slide & Audio Recording How-to Create a Recorded Slide Presentation with Audio
Current Setup Current version of software used is only Power. Point 2013 on a Window 10 operating system Audio recording is done with a Headphone with Microphone via wireless USB dongle
To Perform the Recording Under the Slide Show tab, go to the Record Slide Show Choose Start Recording from Beginning. . . Start talking on current slide and then continue to the next Power. Point will continuously record your audio and slide transition timing until the slideshow finishes
Laser Pointer and Pen You can use laser pointer and pen to add guidance to your presentation To do so, right-click and choose Pointer Options and choose either Laser Pointer or Pen to use said feature Unfortunately, the laser pointer doesn’t run in-sync with the recording and the pen will become a permanent addition onto the slide rather than it being drawn like on an actual live presentation
How this work As soon as the recording started, Power. Point will start recording the audio at every slide and take not of the timing on each slide When the recording is completed, the audio is separated and placed onto each slide and the timing for each slide to transition is applied NOTE: Some time the transition is not following the length of the recording, resulting in a cut audio. Adjust them in the Transitions tab and make sure the transition timing is the same as the recorded audio
Creating a Video from the Recording Once the recording is done, you can preview them by running the slideshow and it will play automatically with the timing you’ve used during your recording What’s left now is to export the recording into a video. To do so, go to File > Export > Create a Video Make sure that Use Recorded Timings and Narrations is selected before clicking the Create Video button For smaller file size, you can go for the Internet & DVD option
Recommended Device The biggest concern here is the recording of the voice as it is highly dependant on the hardware used In order of quality, from best to worst, here’s the list of recording device that you can use: Standalone Microphone or Streaming Microphone Headset w/ Microphone Webcam w/ Built-in Microphone Laptop w/ Built-in Microphone
