Presentation on Spectrum Management in Bangladesh Presented by Md. Maksudur Rahman Akhund Director & Asif Riyadh Lodi Deputy Director Department of Telecommunications Bangladesh
Current Legal and Management Structure • Spectrum Management Committee recommends to the Regulatory Commission named BTRC for assigning frequency from different bands to various organizations. Upon recommendations, the Commission has assigned frequencies to mobile operators, PSTN operators, Broadband Wireless Access service providers, satellite TV channels, Aeronautical and Maritime communications, Private Mobile Radio (Walkie Talkie), Internet Service Providers and Government organizations.
Organizations Using Spectrum • • • Mobile operators (4 operators) PSTN operators (2 operators) Broadband Wireless Service operators ISP Satellite and Terrestrial TV channels Radio Broadcasting Security agencies Govt. organizations Private organizations Foreign missions Aeronautical services Maritime services
