Introduction: Psychologist Art Bartlett first used the word Schema in the year 1932. Schema as knowledge is deeply and seriously studies R. C Anderson made as extensive research on Schema and Schema Theory.

Definition: David Crystal defined Schema as “ a mental structure in which knowledge is organised. ” R. L Trask defined Schema as “ a set of knowledge that idealized from experience. ”

Examples of schema: Ø Hotel Schema: Table, Chair, Manu card, Hand wash, Chicken, Kitchen etc. Ø Library Schema: Bookshelf, Daily card, Weekly card, Access No. , Reading Room etc.

Classification of Schema: Linguistic Schema Formal Schema Content Schema

Formation of Schema: i) Operating Intelligence ii) Figurative Intelligence

ØGrow the Understanding development by help of Operating Intelligence. This Intelligence have two factions they are. . Assimilation Accommodation


Schema in classroom and role of Teachers: To inform the learners the necessity of Schematic knowledge. To make them feel that Schematic knowledge transform readings. To inform the learners with real examples on schematic knowledge. To train the learners how to developed the thinking power. To inform the learners any kinds of events or exprience how to store in Schema.
