INTRODUCTION � Control is a primary goal-oriented function of management in an organisation. It is a process of comparing the actual performance with the set of standards of the company to ensure that activities are performed according to the plans and if not then taking corrective action.

CONCLUSION It is a comparison and verification process of the actual performance with the planned performance. The deviation between the results achieved and the results expected is discovered and the reason for deviation is detected. It provides the basis for future action and reduces the chances of mistakes being repeated in future by employing preventive measures.
