Subjunctive vs. Indicative • All of the verb tenses we’ve been using are in the Indicative Mode. • The Indicative Mode is used to express what we know or believe to be true or factual. • The Subjunctive Mode is used to talk about things that aren’t facts, such as hopes, persuasion, doubt, emotion, etc.
