Lighting the Advent Candles Week 3: The candle of Joy In this third week of Advent we wait with Joy is Special gift. Joy comes when we don’t Expet it. Joy bursts out of us. We cannot hide it.
What gives us Joy now as we light this candle? Let us take a moment to prepare our hearts for Worship in Joy! (Silence)

Opening Prayer
Coming God, We are waiting for you in this time of worship. We are getting read for you. We are getting our work ready for peace. We are lighting candles for you. We are lighting candles with acts of love and justice. God, come to our hearts now. God, come to our world today. Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus. Amen.

Prayer of Confession:
Sometimes, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo. But Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light. ” Let us bring to God in prayer our burden of sin and our yoke of guilt, confident and trusting in the Spirit of grace.
God, We live in a world that is always getting ready for war. Why do we always prepare for war and not for peace? We don't understand. You have promised a day when We will learn to prepare for Peace. Let us start now. We ask in the name of Jesus, the prince of peace (silence)
God the Creator brings you new life, forgives and redeems you. Take hold of this forgiveness, and live your life in the spirit of Jesus. Amen

It will reach above the hills, and every nation will rush to it. 2 People of many nations will come and say, "Let's go up to the mountain of the LORD God of Jacob and worship in his temple.
