About the Programme • Candidates are eligible if they have a learning support need, are aged 16+ and require support to prepare for employment. • 12 month programme – 2 ½ days a week – based at our resource centre in Mixenden. • The programme is designed with the learning needs of our candidates and covers a variety of experiences and workshops to enable individuals to maximise their potential for employment. • The programme bridges the gap between the skills employers require and the skills the candidate needs to acquire. • Our programme doesn’t guarantee candidates employment, but we endeavour to secure positive employment outcomes for all.

Pre-Training Programme Kick Start Programme Months 1 -3 Months 3 -6 In this section of the course individuals will complete: • An introduction to the course • Procedures to follow, eg. • Timekeeping • Attendance • Fire procedures • Health & Safety • What is expected from individuals, eg. • Personal conduct • Dress code • Personal files / PCPs • Personal qualities In this section of the course individuals will complete: • Confidence building workshops • Team building sessions • Smart Club • Trips to the Job Centre for. . . information
Workplace Training Employment Plan Months 6 -9 Months 9 -12 In this section of the course individuals will complete: • Looking at different employment. . . opportunities available. • Barriers to employment • Advantages and disadvantages of. . . being in employment • What qualities and skills an employer. . . will look for • Supervisions and appraisals • CVs • Interview skills • Mock application forms • Look at jobs available within CSS • Rotas, time sheets, pay slips • Fill in application forms • Attend interviews • Attend training, eg. • Health & Safety • First Aid • Food Safety • Manual Handling • Attend a 20 hour placement for a three month period.
