Preliminary Task The three techniques I used for my preliminary task was the shot

Preliminary Task The three techniques I used for my preliminary task was the shot reverse shot, match on action and 180 degree rule. I learnt a lot of things from my preliminary task because as it is a brand new subject for me, I had no experience of how to make a good video. I fully understood the three rules, shot reverse shot, 180 degrees rule and match on action. The 180° rule is a basic rule that declares that two characters or props in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. The 180 degrees rule is that the camera stays in one line-imaginary axis which they are not allowed to cross unless if they want to change the imaginary axis, they have to show the camera moving so that the audience knows that it has changed to a different angle. If they do cross the axis, it is known as ‘Crossing the line. ’ For example, If a man is running, if the man exits a door from the right side, he should enter from the left side of the frame in the next shot. If it stays on the same side, it will cause disorientation for the audience. The match on action rule is all about a technique which can continue shooting scenes from the one before when they have cut the scene and changed the camera angle. It is when a scene is temporarily cut, and then picked back up and the shot immediately following. The shot reverse shot rule is a filming technique where one character is shown looking at another character, and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character. Since the characters are shown facing in opposite directions, the viewer assumes that they are looking at each other. It makes it look very realistic as both of the characters are looking at each other from the camera’s angle of shooting.
