Mission n Test the vertical range of wireless technology n Test cell phone durability at 100, 000 ft. n Deploy Elastic Memory Composite Hinge to maneuver split mirrors n Image both the Earth and space n Measure ascent and descent rates during flight
Cell Phone Experiment Attach cell phone to a digital recording device and record transmission during flight n Expected transmission: n – Constant beep – Wind & possible mach 1 sounds – Balloon pop Establish connection with satellite cell phone via auto answer n Play a constant beep from the ground to determine quality of reception n
EMC Hinge Deployment n An Elastic Memory Composite hinge will be attached to our split mirror outside the satellite to achieve images of both the Earth and space n Heat the hinge to deploy mirror and take pictures of the horizon n Camera will be placed against a side panel with a view hole to take pictures
