Section 106 Agreement requirements being met, with more to do; Key Environmental Surveys, Marine Surveys, Archaeological Surveys done in 2018; Key stakeholders engaged; Wyre Council , Natural England, Environment Agency, Lancashire County Council, Health & Safety Executive, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Marine Management Organisation (MMO), Knott End Golf Club, National Grid, The Crown, The Duchy; Electricity North West. Cavern operating requirements modelled UK Government engaged, OFGEM, BEIS, UK Treasury, DEFRA First gas dependent on Gas pipeline programme Implementation works agreed with local contractor
Preesall Underground Gas Storage Scheme Key Preesall Credentials • Preesall Gas Storage Operation: • 12 day injection / withdrawal cycle; • Capable of cycling 28 times a year; • Cycling volume potential of 7. 8 bcm per year; • Variable cycling cost of 0. 31 p/therm; and • Preesall’s Competitive Advantage: • Faster cycling speed; • Lower cycling costs; • Virtual cavern design – Preesall can cycle at a higher rate & be worked harder over short time periods (e. g. , 6 to 12 hour periods within day); and • Significant site development opportunities - a Phase 2 could add caverns doubling WGV and enhancing IRR, utilizing Phase 1 above ground infrastructure. • Consider designing to accommodate Hydrogen
