What is Pre-AP ? Pre-AP is an advanced course for students to help begin

What is Pre-AP ? Pre-AP is an advanced course for students to help begin preparing for college, and is designed to be rigorous. Students are expected to be hard workers, who recognize the importance of a college education. Pre-AP do not have to qualify for the course through a test or grades. Students who experience success in Pre-Ap courses typically exhibit the following personal and academic characteristics. - Reading on or above grade level - Strong study skills and self-motivation - Proficient oral and written communications skills - Self- disciplined to plan, organize, and carry out tasks to completion - Interest and self-directedness in a particular subject

What is the difference between a Social Studies Pre-AP and a General Education class?

What is the difference between a Social Studies Pre-AP and a General Education class? The curriculum of a Pre-AP course is built on the core academic curriculum following the Texas Education Agency guidelines for each course, called the TEKS-Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Students enrolled in Social Studies Pre-AP should expect a more challenging class, faster pace, more in-depth classroom discussions, intensified vocabulary, an increased amount of required reading, the need for effective time management, and overall greater academic expectations on assignments.
