Purpose In the Body of Christ where the experiences and needs of the congregants differ, it is important to know that prayer is the equalizer and it still works. Therefore, the purpose of this session is to provide simple ways for multiple generations to experience prayer together.

Learning Objective(s) By the end of the session, participants will: • Briefly examine multigenerations in the context of prayer • Identify simplistic ways for multi-generations to engage in prayer together

Scripture Reference(s): Psalms 71: 18 Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to everyone that is to come. Psalms 145: 4 One generation shall praise thy works to another; and shall declare your mighty acts. Matthew 18: 19 Again I say to unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of the Father which is in heaven.

What is a Generation? A generation is "all of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively. " It can also be described as, "the average period, generally considered to be about thirty years, during which children are born and grow up, become adults, and begin to have children of their own. ”

Categories of Generations ● Silent Generation: 1928 -1945 ● Baby Boomers: 1946 -1964 ● Gen X: 1965 -1980 ● Millennials aka Gen Y: 1981 -1996 ● Gen Z: 1997 -present

What Do We All Have In Common? We all want to experience the power and presence of God. We can only do that when we come together in agreement. Matthew 18: 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

How Do We Engage All Generations in Prayer?

Engaging Generations Through Teaching On Prayer ● Teaching Begins at Home: v Challenge parents to begin having prayer w/their children ● Corporate Bible Study with an intentional focus on aspects of prayer ● Deploy the Intercessory Prayer Ministries to partner with other ministries to teach about prayer

Engaging Generations in Prayer Through Mentorship ● Seniors and Youth prayer partners ● During prayer times, allow the younger children to engage in prayer with adults ● Mentor groups incorporate modules on prayer within the program curriculum

Engaging Generations in Corporate Prayer ● Include Youth in Prayer Revivals ● Concert of Prayer ● Prayer Walks and Marches ● Cell Group Book Studies on Prayer & Intercession
