Practical 04 Complex r. DUAT DINATs DELCOM & RDUAT Training Toolkit

Aim To trial using GNSS/app for r. DUAT social and spatial mapping – taking into account complexities relating to spatial restrictions and social disputes

Equipment and Materials 1 x Group of 2 participants 1 x Emlid Reach+ GNSS receiver + pole, set as rover (another will be setup to act as ‘base’, on tripod) 1 x Smartphone and installed apps: Kobo Collect, esri Collector, and Map. IT 1 x Aerial image showing ‘Community of Infatec’ + coordinates for georeferencing

Tasks (see support slides) Review the updated map of the ‘Infatec Community’ and the new indicative parcels. Undertake the same activity as the previous practical – however, this time there are disputes, and you need to consider the spatial restrictions (e. g. protected areas). Note the challenges and issues you face as you complete the mapping. Present your mapped parcels and social data back to the group. Discuss the challenges and issues you faced and how they could be dealt with and/or resolved.
