In page that describes you, including your career history, education, interests, and other related content you may want to publish. We have a variety of features that leverage your profile or others' profiles to help you meet your objectives. Where do I find general controls for my Linked. In account? You can control your account information and privacy settings from the sign-in, homepage and Privacy & Settings page. Some of the actions you can take include changing your password, signing out of your account, and adding email addresses. We recommend that you add more than one email address so you can sign in even if you lose access to one of them Tip: When editing your profile, set your “Notify Your Network” setting to “no”. TWITTER LANGUAGE How do I edit my profile? You can go to your profile and move your cursor over any section and click to add or remove content: You can also individually add, change, or remove content on your profile. For most items: Move your cursor over Profile at the top of your homepage and select Edit Profile. Scroll to the section you'd like to edit and move your cursor over it. Click into the field and add or remove text. Click Save. You can click the View Profile As button in the top section to see how your profile looks to your connections and the public. TIPS PROFILE TIPS ü Make your bio searchable by using keywords that are related to your career, expertise, or company ü Use a photo in your cover image that helps make you memorable, and/or conveys what your expertise is ü Add a photo of you rather than using the Twitter egg so people can relate to you better ü Add a link to your website TWEETING TIPS ü Use the 10 -4 -1 rule – curated content or other people’s content, your own content, and lead generating content ü Include hashtags (example: #socialmedia ) that are relevant to your content so your Tweet can be found by others who are looking for Tweets on that topic ü Include compelling or eye catching images in your Tweets to generate more engagement, shares and likes ü Use verbs in your Tweets to help make them more clickable ü Share good content (photos, links to video, blog posts, opinions, articles, jokes and anything that is authentic) as that is what gets you noticed and builds your following ü When starting a tweet with someone’s name, add a period before it otherwise Twitter assumes the conversation is directed only at that one individual ü Shorten URLs you include by using URL shortner tools like bitl. y so you have more character space ü Tag other people in your tweets by using their Twitter handle so they see you’ve mentioned them (example: Great tips @micheleruiz 01 in your Twitter tip sheet… ü When re-tweeting (sharing someone else’s Tweet) use “Quote Tweet option so you can add a short comment RUIZ STRATEGIES © 2016 | www. TIPS BUILD FOLLOWING TIPS ü Focus on being helpful and not “selling” or “advertising” – go back to the 10 -4 -1 rule ü Avoid being a “Twitter snob” or someone who only follows a few people – that only works and is accepted and understood if you’re an “Oprah”, a world leader, or a Fortune 1000 corporation ü Don’t follow everyone as who you follow also tells a story about you – avoid following accounts that look “spammy” ü Create Twitter lists to organize the people you follow in categories or by topics to easily follow the accounts that you want to keep up with ü Engage by thanking people and give them shout outs when they acknowledge you – in other words, be human RUIZ STRATEGIES © 2016 | www.
