Tourism q Tourism indeed an activity that brings the changes in many ways. It is a social-economical transformation of a society in one hand to nearness to live a natural life in place of hectic materialistic living pattern of urban environment. q Modernization of society , a new approaches to define life and living as well as infrastructure development , tourism is the key feature that ultimately transform the pattern of life style specially in rural sector. q Economy of the state like Chhattisgarh is based on agriculture and rainfall variation , poverty and small land holdings are some factors that influenced not only production , income but also overall livelihood pattern. Tourism provide the best opportunity to earn money as the off field activity to them.
Study area � � � Chhattisgarh is the 16 th most populous state in India is situated in central part of the India over an area of 135190 km. Covered by more than 21 % with forest state is known as rice bowl and electricity hub of the nation. Climate of the state is tropical hot and humid with 42 -48 degree centigrade in summer season and 80% of the rains received in monsoon period. Winter is the best season for visitors due to the pleasant atmospheric condition. Most of the population of the state(80%) resided in rural sector and agriculture is the primary activity. Total occupation rate of the state is 39. 87 which is very low. The state is tribal predominant state compasses 83742(81. 45%) of the total population. Literacy rate of the state is 71. 04 of which male percentages are 81. 45 and female literacy is 60. 59 % respectively.

Methodology q The study is based on primary observation of tourist places and secondary data base derived through maps , official websites and other documents. q Data derived from various sources analyzed properly USING SIMPLE STATISTICAL PARAMETRES q Primary data collected from some of the tourist places - Malhar, Ratanpur, Chandrahasini, Shivarinarayan, Sanna, Kunkuri, Kutumsar, Damakheda, Chitrakut, Rajim, Achnakmar, Madkudweep, BAGHICHA, Bhoramdeo, Khutaghat , Bango, Dongargarh, Gangrel, Raipur, Mainpat, Jagdalpur, Champaran, Purkhoti Muktangan(250)
Chhattisgarh is a state which has a rich rural cultural heritage and attractive natural biodiversity. Rural area of the state is full of ancient monuments, rare wildlife exquisitely carved temples, Buddhist sites , palaces , waterfalls, caves, rock painting and hill plateaus. Most of these sites are untouched and unexplored and offer a unique tourist compassed to traditional destinations (cg state tourist reports 2012, 12). The trends of inflow of tourists is increased by 12. 5 % in the period of 2011 -2014 which has shown the positive response of CG govt. Initiatives to promotion of tourism however it is still need to orient the tourists efforts in a professional manner under various new incentives. Low percentage of foreign tourists indicate that Chhattisgarh really need a strategy across the globe through push factors and creating a credible brand across the country

The artifacts prepared from dokra techniques use the cow dung , paddy husk and red soil in the preparation beeswax is one of the important element. Kondagaon is famous for iron object. Wood carving Tradition wood carving in chhattisgarh is an ancient craft of tribals (Badhais). it is handed over from generation to generation. Lots of efforts has been made by Govt. of Chhattisgarh for the promotion of tourism Tourist information centers in railway stations /Airport , Website creation, Publication of leaflets on various tourist places , organized various festivals (Rajim Kumbh , Bhoram Deo festival, Bastar dashara i. e. These activities are helpful to enhancement of tourism in chhattisgarh. Availability of infrastructure facility is the prime need of the development of tourism in any region. In chhattisgarh , these facilities are adequate accept some area. For the analysis of tourism facilities available and other issues , a tourist satisfaction Index has been calculated.

Steps Ahead for sustainability of tourism As per the official press release the Govt. of chhattisgarh allocated 113 crore rupees for the development of tourism in CG as well as the projects , more than Rs. 1500 crore are in pipeline. Chhattisgarh govt. also sent a proposal for theme based darshan and development of eco-tourism in atate to Ministry of Tourism CTB have plans to develop MANY WATER SPORTS in CG. . Chitrakote Waterfall is already being promoted as the ‘Niagara Falls’ of India and a variety of recreational activities have been created in the vicinity. Now the facilities of water sports is developed in Gangrel Dam Besides that, developing new infrastructure and Cave and River tourism packages to quench the thirst of tourists who are fond of water-based tourism and adventure have to be plan by CTB. These efforts of CG Govt. defiantly placed the CG in tourism map of India. There are several unexplored tourists in state specially in Jashpur, Korba District that can be mapped in tourist map of CG by developing them. (BUKA, Panchi Dahara etc)
