I care about games. Some see Games as a Means to an End. . . I see Art & Entertainment as an End in and of itself. Art & Entertainment is Important “We invest 3 billion hours weekly playing online games. ” – Jane’s TED talk This does not bother me. Most games are not very interesting. This bothers me. Before you quote that on your blog. . . I love games, and enjoy playing them. For me, this is about potential unreached. We have a lot of headroom. Gamification of Life? Lifification of Games (barf) What does that mean? What is the difference between Seinfeld and Friends? Friends Seinfeld Games cannot (currently) express this difference. Friends Seinfeld The difference lies outside our current manifold. So, how do we get off our little sphere? We need more human-scale interactions in games. We don’t need any more aliens or orcs. A brief word on sci-fi and fantasy. . . But, Chris, how do I know if I’m the new Phil/Gene/Rod? 1. Are you saying something personal as a designer? Be honest. 2. s/Taliban/opposing force/g; Adding human-scale interactions doesn’t have to be difficult to implement, nor does it have to result in casual games. . . We just have to try. Thank you.
