Covid Symptoms • Do not allow your son or daughter to attend school if he or she has any of the following symptoms: • A high temperature • A new, continuous cough • A loss or change in sense of taste or smell • If anyone has these symptoms, he or she must selfisolate for 10 days or until a negative test result is received • Anyone in your household must self-isolate for 14 days
Transport & Face Coverings If possible, walk or cycle to school Do not share a car with someone from another household Parents cannot drop off on site No student parking on site If using public transport, wear a mask, wash or sanitise hands before and after journey • Remove face covering once in school and place in a bag. Sanitise hands after touching mask. • Face coverings should be worn in school as follows: in corridors, in common room (except when eating), in Sixth Form break out space, in library, in any other communal areas such as toilets. • • •
Facilities: Year 12 & 13 separated as much as possible • Post 16 Library: computers for Year 13 only • Common Room: Year 12 only • Break Out space: Year 12 only • Dedicated computer/study rooms: Year 12 only • New block: Year 13 only unless Year 12 have a tutor appointment
Break • Year 12 use Common Room or Break Out space • Year 13 will be based in New Block • Avoid mixing with students in Yr 9 -11 • Toilets: Sixth Form toilets, top corridor ones near 217 -219, Languages toilets after Year 9 have gone, New Block toilets for Yr 13. • Bring a bottle of water to school (fountains will be on, but no cups provided)
Lunch • Cold food service available is in Common Room for Year 12 and in New Block for Year 13. • Year 12 use Common Room, Break Out space or leave site • Year 13 use New Block • Packed lunch is recommended • Face coverings must be worn in communal areas when not eating
Classroom Routines • Students must remain 2 m away from adults • Enter classroom as soon as they arrive • Sixth Form travel around the school so need to keep their distance from other year groups. • Sit according to seating plan (important for Track and Trace) • Desks will be in rows, facing the front • Doors and windows will be open • Tissues, gel etc available in classrooms • Dispose of tissues in bins • ICT rooms – use wipes to clean keyboard, desk and mouse at beginning and end
Other Lesson Issues • May leave site during non-contact lessons • If you have practical PE, arrive at school in PE kit for the day • No contact sports (including outside of lessons) or shared equipment • Limits on practical lessons • Books may be taken home, but avoid unnecessary sharing • Have your own basic equipment in school e. g. pens, pencils, glue, scissors, calculator, wipes, gel • You may wear a face covering if you wish
Behaviour and other Routines • Behave in a safe, sensible way • Detention will run for those that fall behind with work: Friday after school • Pyramid Code will continue to apply for those that need additional support to manage their time and independent learning • Fire Drill: rear field, behind Active Play, in registration group order • No lockers or school trips at present • ID badges must be worn at all times • Swipe in and out when entering or leaving school • No phones out except in Common Room, New Block (not in tutorials) and landing: expect them to be confiscated
Medication and First Aid • Medication issued from First Aid room opposite Main School Student Reception • First Aider may wear PPE
Visitors • Parents or other visitors not allowed on site unless for a pre-arranged meeting
Communication • Students should check day board in Common Room for messages, as registration won’t take place • Frog App and Instagram feeds keep students up to date • No assemblies in Hall at present
Pastoral support system • Team of specialist non-teaching tutors • Learning Managers • Comprehensive tutorial and assembly programme (assemblies will have to be virtual at present) • Close monitoring of attendance, attitude to work and progress
