Position wrt other initiatives § PPPs such as “Factories of the Future”, “Energy Efficient Buildings”, “Green Cars” are more application-centric Part of their “problems” relate to “System aspects of embedded systems” Ø Artemis = open community, question is how to favour exchanges Ø Artemis-IA shall get requirements from these PPPs, allowing us to refine the Artemis SRA Ø Ø Go to meet them, explain Artemis positioning, show current SRA, and ask them for their understanding and feedback Ø People or organizations involved in both Artemis and one of the PPPs could initiate exchanges Ø Invite them for presentation of the PPP in Artemis meetings (e. g. , steering board) and of course be ready for the reverse action Ø Need someone to globally organize / coordinate the contacts Ø Note: the Ambient-assisted living is a similar case ARTEMIS Industry Associaition Title Presentation - 3

Position wrt other initiatives § Other JTIs are complementary Ø In the end, how to make the best of the complementarities of all JTIs? § Mid-term: between FP 7 and Eureka Short term on vertical projects, mid-term on horizontal projects (creating solution elements that will serve later in applications) Ø Similar to other JTIs? Ø § More globally, there needs to be a view (to be built by/with the Commission) of how all initiatives complement each other Ø A tool to communicate with Artemis members and with member states, thereby clarifying complementarities between initiatives ARTEMIS Industry Associaition Title Presentation - 4
