Position Opening Job Classification: Operations Shift Supervisor Opening Date: June 4, 2013 Closing Date: June 23, 2013 Location: Clarkdale, AZ Paygrade: 8 (salary doe) Primary Job Function: Supervise and direct the plant operation including raw materials storage, raw mills, kilns, finish mills, coal handling, clinker storage, shipping and related processing equipment, on rotating shifts. Assist and cover supervisor responsibilities for maintenance, laboratory and crushing departments during evening hours, weekends and holidays. Reports directly to the Production Superintendent. Responsibilities: • Direct production operations for the entire plant from raw material storage handling, coal/coke material handling, mills, kilns and pack house bulk loading • Maintain the entire manufacturing facility regarding mechanical, electrical, production and plant security when supporting management is away from the plant • Supervise the work of shift maintenance, laboratory, bulk loading, shipping, crushing and call-out personnel during evenings, weekends and holidays • Develop preventative maintenance programs, preparing and following up completion of maintenance work orders • Keep detailed and accurate shift records to include specific information regarding changes, observations and solutions to process, quality, environmental and safety issues • Certify and safely operate any and all related mobile and/or fixed equipment required. • Ensure all outside contracting services have the required MSHA training and follow all SRMG safety policies • Ensure adherence to all Federal, State and Plant environmental standards • Capable of becoming proficient in the pyro-processing and milling processes Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • High School Diploma or G. E. D. required • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record required • 3 -5 years experience in the production of Portland cement with at least one year in a supervisory capacity or equivalent required • Thorough knowledge of cement processing equipment, product specifications and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to safety and employee relations required • Proficiency in oral and written communication skills required • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel desired, with ability to become proficient in computer use required Essential Requirements: • Ability to wear all required safety equipment including but not limited to hardhats, safety glasses, safety harness, ear plugs, dust masks and gloves • Ability to bend, kneel, twist, ascend and descend stairs/ladders, working in heights and confined spaces and awkward positions for extended periods of time • Ability to lift 50 pounds • Availability for callouts and weekend work as necessary Internal Applicants - Apply at my.
