World Heritage and local communities: participation process UNIVERSITY OF COIMBRA, ALTA AND SOFIA “SOUNDS OF THE CITY” Since 2013, the University of Coimbra, Alta and Sofia, has celebrated its inscription in UNESCO’s whl putting together with different cultural actors an event called “Sons da Cidade”. It is organized as an itinerary through the city, with several stops where different artistic performances take place. The main objective is to promote the visit to less known buildings or parts of the site and to make it in a participatory and inclusive ways. The tangible and the intangible are linked in this event, as well as communities and institutions.
