AIMS (1) provide information about the system of assessment & recognition being created (2) provide information about the main requirements for future candidates in a particular subject area (3) to facilitate the process of developing one’s achievement portfolio for academic credit
What kind of learning is recognized ? n n n experiential learning acquired in a paid work place experiential learning acquired in a nonpaid work place or voluntary job experiential learning acquired in leisure activities non-certified individual learning certified learning that occurred in foreign countries (courses, trainings, etc) certified learning that occurred in a work place
Participants: 8 groups (10 participants in each, 4 modules, including foreign languages, psychology, social work and strategic management)
n n n Adults having learning achievements that have not been certified Adults having learning achievements that have been certified Adults having raised their qualification Adults called „drop-outs“ from university studies Unemployed seeking recognition of their experience acquired both during their prior employment and in the period of unemployment
Usefulness of the course (70 questionnaires; 88%): findings 1. Knowledge gained & skills acquired: e-portfolio; reflection; extended CV 2. Information acquired: formal, nonformal & informal learning; new perspectives opening for adult learners; achievement portfolio
(3) enhancement of use of metacognitive strategies: analysing one’s learning experience; decision making strategy; critical thinking; evaluating learning
(4) practical aspects: handouts; samples (5) added value: adaptability of results in the future
